What happens when medical professionals stop relying on their own expertise and instead defer to an AI-driven overlay for decision-making? What are the risks when patient biometric data is processed, stored, and possibly exploited by a company whose business model is built on monetising personal information? The promise of AR in medicine is undeniable, but the potential pitfalls could reshape trust in healthcare forever.

Without explicit regulations and clearly communicated policy , there’s nothing stopping this from happening.

If a surgeon follows an AR-guided recommendation and something goes wrong, who’s responsible, is it the doctor or the AI? Legal liability in AI-assisted medicine is a minefield, and right now, there are no clear rules governing it.
