The road to recovery has just gotten a lot longer.
With businesses across the UK being plunged into another period of hardship it would be easy to give up.
It’s safe to say we have never experienced times like these before, this lockdown is very different from the last one.
Consumer shopping habits and behaviours were forced to change during the last lockdown with people wanting to buy more locally.
This change is now and forever, the key now is for businesses to pivot and take advantage of this new opportunity.
Ecommerce in many sectors grew by over 81% during Covid, it was 10 years worth of growth in 8 weeks.
Clear and Concise Communication is going to be the key to your success here.
Here are 3 Strategies you can apply while in this lockdown:
𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐲 𝟏 – There are always people ready to buy: The numbers often reported in the media are small segments of the population designed to be attention-grabbing. Take this time to assess what products/services you have to offer and send out regular (Weekly) Communication to your existing clients.
Keep top of mind, if you are a cafe as an example if you bake cookies that you know your customers love to provide the recipe and a video to go with it. Do lots of videos even if you hate it! Video right now across all marketing segments is reaching more people for either no marketing spend or very little!
By doing this you are creating loyalty and will attract new customers as well. Remember this does not need to be perfect, just consistent, whether you are starting with a list of 10 people or 1000 start doing it today.
𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝘆 𝟮 – MVP’s will save you: This one key thing I can contribute my own rapid growth and clients to is this strategy. Segmenting your day into Most Valuable Priorities (MVP’s), I am going to give you a quick overview of how this works.
I break down the MVP’s into 4 core categories – Health – Wealth – Business – Family
Break your day into 30, 45 and 90 Minute segments, put each of the MVPs into each time slot. I call this the Day Strategy Map. Whatever your normal routine, keep it, however, if you have extra time now because of the Lockdown slot your MVP’s in instead of sleeping in!
Remember the brain struggles to stay focused for much more than 45 minutes and then needs a 15-minute break. It’s like your mobile phone when you use it the battery drains, and you need to recharge it, your Brain is the same. Note: The 90 Minute MVP you MUST slot a 15-minute break away from all electronic devices.
If you segment your time like this you will get more done, in less time. You will achieve faster growth than your competitors.
𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝘆 𝟯- Go back in time: Go through your last 5 years worth of customers, contacts, leads, business cards etc and start to compile a new database.
Put hats on all the people where they fit into your business, for example, old customer, new customer, cold lead, warm lead, supplier etc.
Then profile them into 4 categories like below:
ᴀ – High NET Profit – Very Little Time Needed
ʙ – Good NET Profit – More Time Needed
ᴄ – Little NET Profit – Lots of Time Needed
ᴅ – NET Profit Loss – Too much time needed to make them profitable
This is just one of the examples of how we segment lists. However, it’s a great place to start. Once you have put hats on people and profiled them into A, B, C or D then you can customise your marketing to speak to each one.
Start implementing the strategies above and you WILL see a positive return, it’s about doing lots of 1% positive changes in your business and life as they compound and lead to massive results!
